Bold Red - Revlon Parfumerie Perfume Scented Nail Enamel in China Flower Review,NOTD

Revlon released a range of perfumed polishes or "Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel" as they put it. I was miffed at the high prices, especially after the release of Maybelline Color Show range and Faces Hi-Shine & Matte Nail Polish Ranges, but I still couldn't resist checking them out. To be honest, the shade range in India isn't impressive. I like bright colors but I take great care to pick out those that go with my skin and a lot of the colors in the Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel range were either not suitable for my skin tone or they were already there in my vanity. Then I happened to see a bright red. Believe it or not, I did not have a red in my vanity then, just because it isn't a color you can wear casually. But it was the only color that stood out to me & its scent was amazing (the SA let me try it out!) so I had to pick it up.

China Flower is a bright orange-red. Its a gorgeous shade that requires 3 coats for full opacity but I have used 2 here. It is a creamy nail polish with a shiny finish. I'm not a red nails kinda gal, but this is an exception. That said, I do not think it is a unique color. It dries up fairly quickly initially, as the polish in the bottle gets thicker the drying time increases. The formula is perfect-not too thick, not too runny and the brush is thinner than the ones I’ve used and I find it really easy to paint my nails with this brush. Ladies who have small nails will love it. A lot of people rave about the packaging, I think its nice, but it definitely does not justify the price.

Scent: China Flower definitely belongs to the “spicy” range of scents. Its has a lightly musky exotic undertone with strong spicy notes. I would love to wear this as a fragrance on a date but for a perfume its a tad heavier than I like. On my nails, I love the scent! Definitely date-material. The scent is obvious when immediately applied but after some minutes, you have to hold your fingers up to your nose to get the fragrance. As the day passes the scent gets fainter and after one day it was really not as definite as it was initially. The original scent gets muddled amongst other things I touch or apply on my hands. After 2 days a very faint reminder of the scent is there. The thing is, Revlon does not claim that the scent will last for a week, they have mentioned on their website that the scent will last for a day.

Lasting Power: I’m very happy with the lasting power of China Flower – it stays for a good 4-5 days on my nails before tip starts to chip, if I don’t wash my hair in between. I do not do any household chores so if you do, it might not last that long. Some of the nail polishes that I have tried chip within 2-3 days on me even though I literally don’t do any chores. Another thing is that China Flower doesn’t lose its glossy shine finish even at the end of 5 days, which I love. I haven’t tried this over a base coat or under a top coat.

Overall Verdict: 4.5/5
I really liked China Flower and I’ve worn it a lot of times in the winter because I really liked the formula and the scent went along with the season. I do wear it now also because the color screams summer! China Flower has gotten me really interested in the Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel range and I do want to try out more colors as soon as the similar colors that I own dry up. I want to try Powder Puff and Sunlit Grass but I already own Constant Candy and Lemon Fizz from other brands which are similar. I do think that its little pricier than I’d like it to be. If you like spicy fragrances you should definitely get this one, recommended!
